the Community Foundation is run by professional staff and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which is comprised of community leaders from across Nova Scotia;
through community support and donations, our objective is to build a permanent base of funds to support many community initiatives and needs;
donations are typically held in a permanent endowment;income earned on the endowment is used to make grants to local projects;
donors may set up funds to address issues that matter most to them.
